  2. This file is for a short description of each external.  For more information
  3. please see the individual readme files with each external.

  7. Backup File
  8.  
  9. When envoked from the OtherMenu, Backup File will copy a single file of your 
  10. choosing to anyplace that your mac has access to.  If used repeatedly it 
  11. can either delete the old version each time or will rename each new version 
  12. with a number after the name.  With this option you will not only have many 
  13. backups of your work but you will have incremental versions as well.  This 
  14. is really nice because at any time you can go back and get work that you 
  15. might have accidentally or even intentionally deleted or changed and now 
  16. want back.

  19. Express Modem
  20.  
  21. This external will allow you to turn the Express Modem on or off.  The Express
  22. Modem software uses around 300K so it might be useful to turn it off to free
  23. up that memory.  It will also allow you to open the control panel directly from
  24. OtherMenu.  The only limitation is that you can not turn the modem on while the
  25. control panel is open (off is ok).

  28. Kill 'em All!
  29.  
  30. When envoked from the OtherMenu, Kill 'em all will kill all open applications 
  31. except for the Finder.  Initially it will ask you to confirm that each 
  32. application should be killed, but you can change in the settings dialog.  
  33. Also in the setting dialog is the option of giving an exception for one 
  34. certain application.  This application must be identified by its creator 
  35. (ie MSWD for Word, PJMM for THINK Pascal).  The settings dialog for 
  36. OtherMenu externals can be accessed by holding down the shift key when 
  37. choosing the external from OtherMenu.

  40. PowerBook Info
  41.  
  42. This external gives you various info about the status of your PowerBook.  This
  43. includes the current CPU speed, current printer selection, modem info, battery
  44. status and current state of AppleTalk and FileSharing.  It serves no purpose on
  45. a non-portable machine.

  48. Sharing Toggle
  49.  
  50. Selecting Sharing Toggle from the OtherMenu menu will invoke Sharing Toggle.
  51. Upon invocation, Sharing Toggle checks to see if the File Sharing/Server 
  52. Extension is installed. If either is installed, Sharing Toggle will check the 
  53. state of sharing/service and toggle it to its opposite state.
